Creating a role in Intune
Creating a group
1) In MEM, go to Groups, then select + New Group from the top menu.
2) Give the group a unique name, description, and configure any additional settings.
When adding an account to your group, ensure it has the license for Intune selected
Creating a role (based on existing role)
3) In the MEM Admin Centre, go to Tenant administration > Roles > All roles > select the checkbox for a role in the list > Duplicate.
4) On the Basics page, enter a unique name. You can also edit the role's description.
5) All the permissions and scope tags from the original role will already be selected. You can subsequently change the duplicate role's permissions and scope tags.
6) After you've made all the changes that you want, choose Next to get to the Review + Create page. Select Create.
Assigning a group to a role
5) In the O365 Admin Centre, go to Tenant administration > Roles > All roles. Select the role you want to assign.
6) On the Basics page, enter an Assignment name, and description.
7) On the Admin Groups page, select the group that contains the user you want to add.
8) On the Scope (Groups) page, choose group(s) containing the users/devices that the group will be allowed to manage.
9) On the Scope (Tags) page, choose tags where this role assignment will be applied.
10) On the Review + Create page, when you're done, choose Create. The new assignment is displayed in the list of assignments.
